Shades of Grey
The unique complexion of the facing bricks in the "Shades of Grey"-series is the result of a technique called "blue braising". The bricks that have already been baked in the kiln a first time pass through a kiln a second time at a very high temperature, while oxygen is extracted from the process. This changes the shade of grey down into the core of the brick. Besides traditional masonry work, the "Shades of Grey"-bricks are perfectly suited for bonding or thin bed masonry.
